      Liliana Costa

Hello! My name is Liliana (but everyone calls me Lily),
I graduated from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. I also hold an international professional teaching qualification (TESOL).
I worked with various age groups in American schools in Brazil (from young children to Business English students), teaching English as a second language.

I have always been very excited to get to know more about different cultures, people, food & places hence I moved to India where I have been given the opportunity to work as a volunteer in a charity organisation as a mentor and English teacher.
The aim of the charity I’ve worked for was to develop in the kids a positive attitude towards language learning by providing them an English-speaking environment, a method close enough to how we communicate with our parents when we first start speaking.
The success was proven: those kids who could not speak any English at first became fluent in the very first year. Other organisations in the city would come and visit our project to learn how we did it.

Although I worked with various age groups I realised my passion was to start from the very beginning, with early year age by building a strong foundation.
By creating an environment where every day is an opportunity for astounding growth. I then studied the Montessori method of early childhood education. I also worked in a Pre-school in India and could spend quality time with pre-schoolers and loved each moment I’ve spent with them. I also became a trainer for new teachers and helped them to replicate the same methodology.

This is my second year here in BGC- Hungary, I’m sure the little ones will continue thrive in our developmental-centred programs that embrace the principle of learning through play. I am eager to see them explore, grow and enjoy themselves while we supported and encouraged them to learn while having fun!
