Csata Utca Primary School

In the BGC English After School Program our method of activity-based language acquisition is realized in a native environment for twenty hours a week. The sessions take place daily, between 13:00-17:00 and under the constant supervision of the Hungarian afternoon teacher.

During the time spent in the After School Program, our native English lecturers engage the students in a 75-minute English activity-based session (known as a club time). These encompass a variety of extra-curricular activities focusing on a wide range of topics. Additionally, the lecturers take part in games and free play, both inside and outside. It follows from our activity-based education style that in our program we do not use textbooks, test or worksheets.

The nature of the English club times can vary between different grades. In each year of education the same five club times will reoccur according to a timetabled schedule.

BGC Open Day for parents of prospective students

Parents of prospective first grade students will be able to learn about the daily activities of the English After School Program by viewing an open class. Following the presentation, we will hold a briefing about the program and try to answer any questions you may have.

“SMART-KLUB” for prospective first grade students

Alongside the “Magical School” program offered by the Csata Utca Primary School, we also offer playful skill development guided activities to those enrolled in the BGC Hungarian-English bilingual classes.

The club activities will begin in February. It is necessary to submit an application via e-mail, to info@bgcprogram.hu before 25th January 2020. (Please include the following: name of child, date of birth, name of kindergarten, name of catchment area school, name of sibling already enrolled in the program.) We can accept a limited number of applications, on a first come first served basis.

The aim of the “Smart Club” guided activities is to help the students have a smooth transition from kindergarten to school life.

“Smart-Party”

Playful “Smart-Party”: 27th March 2020 (please indicate your intention to participate by e-mailing info@bgcprogram.hu before 20/02/2020). Attendance of the “Smart Club” sessions is not a prerequisite for registration.

Following the “Smart-Party”, we will work with the school to suggest which class we consider the most pedagogically appropriate for your child in our Csata Utca Primary School. (Only students who have attended the “Smart-Party” on 27th March may be enrolled in the BGC Hungarian-English bilingual classes.)
