Grace Beeby
Angol anyanyelvi lektorMy name is Grace, and I grew up in Dallas, Texas. I moved to Ohio to attend Denison University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s in History. While at university, I studied for a semester in Copenhagen, and it was during this time that I found a passion for travel and immersion in a new culture.
This inspired me to move to Sydney, Australia to become an au pair for a family with a 2 year-old boy. Au pairing felt like a natural fit, because I started babysitting when I was 14, and I was able to live abroad and live in a new culture.
However, when the pandemic started, I returned home to Dallas, and began working at an elementary school supporting the teachers during a particularly difficult school year. I accepted various long-term substitute teaching positions. I am grateful for this experience, because I was able to teach a range of students from ages 5-10 in a relatively short amount of time.
I have always been drawn to job positions in which I can be of service, therefore, beginning a new life teaching in Budapest felt like the right next step. I feel very lucky to be able to call Budapest home now and be a part of our wonderful students’ language acquisition. I have very fond memories of my pre-school and elementary school teachers, because they were so caring and inclusive. I hope to create the same positive learning environment for my students and be a source of support during their first step in learning English.
