I learnt my first English words at the age of five, and I instantly became fascinated with acquiring a foreign language, even though I barely knew what it really meant. After completing my master’s degree in English Language and Literature, I spent a year in Ireland working in a social housing project assisting individuals living in a state of homelessness.

Afterwards, I worked in Berlin for two years as a cultural coordinator as part of a scholarship programme. I completed my Teaching English as a Foreign Language master’s degree and the Cambridge CELTA certifitcate and I taught in several different educational settings, from small-town language school to state secondary school, and I also did company courses.

As a result of working in various settings of social-care, education and culture, I experienced what an immense difference experiential learning makes. It is a central aim of BGC to put the joy of language acquisition into practice. I joined the team not only to support children in discovering the joy of acquiring the skill of the English language, but also to gain the ability to acquire any new skill or knowledge with real joy and through inner motivation.
