Tamara Bosnyák
Deputy Managing DirectorMy name is Tamara Bosnyak and I have been the professional leader of Boys & Girls Clubs of Hungary since 2014. As of September 2019, I have been appointed to be the Operational Director of the program. At the age of 44, I stand as the mother of two beautiful children. In today’s world, everyone wants to get the best out of their own and their children’s lives too and I am no exception to this. However, I feel the situation is exceptional because I love my job! I start every day happy because I know that I work for something unique.
The results of my work will one day be priceless to those involved in the program. Even until the students achieve their goal of speaking English with confidence, we provide countless unique and engaging activities along the way. Designing, exploring and creating these experiences and adventures is a fascinating and valuable task for me.
In addition to performing the operational tasks within the company, my main job is to observe and mentor the professional work of native English-speaking colleagues, which I am more than happy to do. I have been working in the field of early language teaching for the past 14 years and have taught for a long time whilst simultaneously developing my professional skills. I am open to modern technologies in education. The Lego Education products used in the BGC English After School Program are just as impressive to me as they are to our students. I enjoy spending some of my free time learning from webinars and professional articles, as well as gathering creative educational ideas.
I am proud to be a professional leader of a program that has received the European Language Award. In my daily work, with my commitment and openness, I aim to show my colleagues a path worth following.
For me, getting to know the needs and ideas of others is vital. In the absence of them, I would not be able to create the most appropriate, inspiring working conditions for my colleagues and provide the best language program for the children and their parents.
Early language learning, unfortunately, has not been given enough attention in the years when I graduated as an English language teacher. Many years later, as the manager and language teacher of the Helen Doron Early English Language School, I came to realize that language acquisition alone meant “language learning” free from self-imposed, burdensome and stressful situations. The highlight of my day is when I look at the large dictionaries that I used during my studies of English and realize my daughter Bora (18) will never have to use them. This is because she has been able to learn English in the BGC After School Program without the need for memorizing vocabulary sheets :).
I like reading, but often it takes half a year to finish a book. I love to do jigsaw puzzles, but as soon as the picture is complete I start taking it apart again. I enjoy painting on pebbles, wood, glass and also sometimes on paper. Of course, it is nothing serious, just a hobby. Sometimes I would like to ’walk off the map’. All these are great things, but for me, my family, who support me in my work and are part of my every success, is most important.
