Amel Goudjil
Native English Teacher – InstructorHello everyone
My name is Amel and I am from Algeria. Coming from a multilingual family, I have developed a special interest in language learning from a very young age which led me to study English language and literature at university then specialise in applied linguistics.
I started working with BGC in the winter of 2021 and I was absolutely honoured to be the teacher of the Horsie group at Meséskert kindergarten for the last three years.
My teaching experience started when I volunteered as an English teacher in remote areas of the southern parts of Algeria. I realised back then how much I enjoy teaching and especially teaching younger kids. During my BA studies I hosted a children show in the local radio station of my city and worked as an English teacher for two years before moving to Hungary to complete my masters.
Studying Applied linguistics at the University of pecs gave me a clearer idea about early childhood education and made me strongly believe in the effectiveness of experiential learning on kids. In summer 2019, I volunteered in a summer camp in Greece where I taught Greek children English through daily interactions, games, and songs and I could clearly see the results of effortless learning on them.
BGC has given me the chance to be part of a program that adopts the same teaching methods that I believe in. I am very excited and cannot wait to spend a spectacular year with my new little Hedgehogs and I look forward to seeing how they grow as learners and individuals.
