Alex Mezik

I am a Polish/American who arrived in Budapest four years ago to study Communications and Media in Corvinus University. As a child of an immigrant mother who is also an English as a Second Language teacher for children, I saw firsthand the ways in which a passionate teacher can affect others positively. Following in my mama’s footsteps, I started teaching English to Hungarian children in 2019. I began with freelance tutoring and was eventually hired by KITEC, an English program based in Budaors.

I found a sense of pride when seeing students engage and learn from my activities and teaching methods. I have worked previously in classrooms in the United States, and take a creative approach for the children to learn from. I am a guitarist, photographer, nature lover but always a teacher first. I firmly believe in positive reinforcement, and see teaching as guidance and a tool for my students to pick up from.

I am currently teaching the Dolphin group in PityPang Ovoda and from this experience, as well as future ones, I can safely say that one can find a job that they can both enjoy and learn from. Working with BGC has provided me with this, and I look forward to seeing what the school year has in store!
