My name is Tamsyn Kemp or Tammy. I am from Cape Town, South Africa but I have had a multinational upbringing as my family moved around the world for my father’s job as a diplomat we therefore lived in Tokyo, Japan and Paris, France. I know the the enrichment that multiculturalism brings to ones life and therefore I definitely understand the BGC programme and it’s importance in the school system here in Hungary.

After I finished school I studied towards a degree in International relations and economics at the University of South Africa and I have not always had a career in teaching as I worked in many fields as a secretary, a fundraiser in an NGO and then I stumbled upon the career of teaching English to foreign learners and completed my TEFL course which brought me to teach an after school club in Tokyo Japan this was an amazing experience and one where I saw the impact I had on my learners and importance of cultural exchanges that I will treasure for a lifetime.

Although I grew up in Western Europe and I have always been into historical and cultural traditions of Europe I decided to carry on with my career in education and I pursued a new destination and that is what has brought me to Budapest, Hungary. I am very much excited for the upcoming school year and I hope to make a huge impact on the children lives and hope that I can enrich there school year with fun, games, songs and lots of happiness.
