Finley

Hello! I’m Finley, and I teach English in the Butterfly group at Meséskert Tagóvoda.

The oldest of three siblings and twelve cousins, I graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2022 with a B.A. in Russian and Post-Soviet Studies.

In 2023, I received my TESOL certificate and participated in the Fulbright Teaching Assistantship program at the Erdenet Institute of Technology in Erdenet, Mongolia, during the 2023-2024 school year. There I taught English to students as young as six and as old as seventy. I also organized afterschool conversation clubs and film screenings to encourage students to engage with the English language in a fun and meaningful way.

At Meséskert, I take a similar approach with our preschoolers, but with even more gusto and flair. I sing, I dance, I make silly faces, I do silly voices. The more exaggerated, the better, and as long as my students are laughing and practicing their English—even if it’s a simple “please” and “thank you” during snack time – I know the day was a success.
