Duties and responsibilities:

BGC Hungary is looking for an early year educator to achieve its goal to provide an innovative, award-winning bilingual preschool and afterschool program. Placements are in public preschools (kindergartens) in the 13th district of Budapest, Hungary.

A successful candidate will:

• Provide a native English environment through stories, songs, games and craft activities in a bilingual setting.
• Lead our full-immersion English language BGC Preschool curriculum while serving as a facilitator.
• Prepare visual aids to be able to give comprehensible input for our nonnative preschoolers.
• Work side-by-side with a Hungarian licensed preschool teacher from 8.00 am-13.00 pm daily.
• Have 25 contact hours/week spent in the preschool group, and be available for an additional 5 hours/week for administration, preparation, meetings and mentoring.
• Cooperate with the Hungarian preschool teachers to create 2-week project plans.
• Occasionally help organize and participate in site events such as craft afternoon with parents, or help children get ready for end of year performances.

Job requirements:

• Native English speaker or balanced bilingual (English skills match those of a native speaker, raised by a native parent or received at least 8 years of education in an English-speaking institute.
• A bachelor’s degree in any field (a degree in education is valued).
• Commitment to 12 months.
• TEFL / CELTA certificate if the applicant is not a licensed teacher.

About the Company:

Boys and Girls Clubs of Hungary is the first European sister club of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and a partner of the World Federation of Youth Clubs. The primary goal of the BGC English Program is to effectively teach English in a native environment. Our Program which was awarded the EUROPEAN LANGUAGE AWARD 2014, operates in 5 public educational institutions in Budapest.

Currently we serve over 660 children daily with our outstanding teachers. The BGC English Kindergarten Program runs for 3 (+1) years for children aged 3-6, whereas our BGC English School Program runs for 4+4 years for children aged 6-14. 

Our goal is to facilitate the students’ language acquisition to the highest level in a stress-free environment. The activities help to develop all aspects of the children’s personalities, allowing them to gain a competitive advantage for their futures.

Compensation:

net 280.000 HUF – 400.000 HUF (details discussed in the interview).
Enrolled for Hungarian National Health Care.
Opportunity for taking up sessions at the BGC Afterschool Program
Compensation is paid monthly as per Hungarian practice by the 10th of each month.
